Super Tuscan Wines
超级托斯卡纳

                Where is the romantic “heart” of wine?  Tuscany!  Few places are as beautiful and produce wine as great.
 
      在葡萄酒世界里，最浪漫的中心在哪里？托斯卡纳！很少有地方，像这里一样，美景与美酒兼具！

     The best traditional red wines are those of Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino.  These wines are made with the Sangiovese grape and can be excellent.  However, the Tuscan wines which have captured the hearts of wine lovers and experts worldwide are the “Super Tuscans”. 
     在托斯卡纳，有非常棒的传统酿制的红葡萄酒：奇安蒂和布鲁诺·迪·蒙塔奇诺，它们都是由一种叫做桑乔维斯的当地葡萄酿的。但是，这里最深得钟爱、被世界各地的葡萄酒专家们一致青睐的，却是一种特殊的酒，被称为超级托斯卡纳！

     These are wines made with a combination of grapes including grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which are not traditional grapes from the region.  Many of the best blend the local Sangiovese with the famous bordeaux varieties, which do quite well in Tuscany.  Unlike most traditional wines of Italy and France, you do not need to remember a lot of town and commune names to find great Super Tuscan wines. 
     这些超级托斯卡纳酒，通常都没有遵循当地传统的酿造法则。而是夹杂着外地葡萄混酿，比如加了赤霞珠、梅洛等。我最爱的一类酒，就是包含着当地桑乔维斯葡萄，和波尔多地区种类的葡萄，混酿的那一类。

     Before I get into more detail and tell you which makers and wines to look for, lets back up and look at Tuscany for a minute.
     在我介绍酿酒商和酒之前，咱们先来看看托斯卡纳这个产区。

Tuscany

     Located at the country's very heart, Tuscany is the largest region in Italy, covering nearly 9,000 square miles and home to just under 4 million residents. Tuscany's capital, Florence, and the surrounding areas offer spectacular vistas that attract 10 million visitors annually. It is significant as the birthplace of the Renaissance.
     托斯卡纳，位于意大利的中心，是这个国家最大的地区。覆盖9000平方英里，近400万人居住于此。托斯卡纳的省会—弗罗伦萨（翡冷翠），周边风景如画，每年吸引着1000万游人。是欧洲文艺复兴的诞生地。

     Tuscany has been producing famous wine for more than 2000 years, some say closer to 3000. It’s wine has been valued highly and has been exported constantly through out this long history.  This region produces great wines because this land is mostly hilly and has poor soil. 
     托斯卡纳酿酒已历经2000多年，有些人认为近3000年。长久以来，这里的酒都非常著名，出口各地！这个产区如此有名，产出的酒被人喜爱，是因为此地大部分都是山地，土地贫瘠。

     The hills provide places (high up) where vines can avoid the worst of the summer heat.  These places also have larger fluctuations in temperature which help the grapes to ripen properly. 
     山地居高，所以上面生长的葡萄藤躲过了夏日的热浪。日夜温差较大，反而有利于葡萄更平衡、更合适地自然成熟。

     The poor soil keeps grape yields lower which also ensures higher quality for making wine.  Not only are the conditions right for grapes, the hills， vineyards and ancient buildings make for a stunningly beautiful place to visit.
     贫瘠的土地使葡萄产量低下，却恰好确保了制酒葡萄的品质。这里的环境不只是适于葡萄生长，美丽的山地、葡萄园、古老的建筑都使其成为极有魅力的胜地！

     Within Tuscany there are many recognized wine-growing regions which each have their own traditional rules for making wine. 
     在托斯卡纳这个地区，有33个获得认证的葡萄酒产区，每一个产区都有他们自己酿酒的独特法则。

     Exploring these in detail can be very rewarding for both the traveler and the wine connoisseur. 
     在托斯卡纳，寻访这些不同的葡萄酒庄，不论是对旅行者，还是葡萄酒鉴定家，都是美妙、特别、超值的旅行。

A New Tradition in an Ancient Setting
（新传统在古老土地上的生根发展）

     Some people argue about who made the first Super Tuscan wine, but now most people agree that it was probably Mario Incisa della Rocchetta. 
     很多超级托斯卡纳酒都说自己是首创的，事实上，现在很多专家都认为，第一个酿造出超级托斯卡纳酒的人，是马里奥欧爵，下图右边戴帽子的老人。

     He planted Cabernet for his personal consumption in the 1940’s and eventually released Sassicaia commercially in 1971.  Sassicaia is a fantastic wine which I would recommend trying.  They are powerful, complex, elegant Cabernet based wines which can be aged for a very long time. The only thing that keeps most people from drinking it is the price since it sells in China for 1200 yuan or more and aged examples can easily be over 2000 per bottle!
      20世纪40年代，他种植了赤霞珠，为自己酿酒。1971年，他的酒被商业发布，进行售卖盈利，被命名为西施佳雅。西施佳雅是非常好的一款酒，我强烈建议大家尝尝。它是一款有力的、复杂的、优雅的赤霞珠基底的酒，可以存放很长时间。很多人不选择它是因为它的售价，在中国一般在1200元以上，有一些年份的酒，很轻易就卖到2000元以上。

     Are there Super Tuscan wines under 1200 yuan?  Yes, let us look at some more of these wines!
     有没有一些超级托斯卡纳酒在1200元以下呢？有，我给大家介绍几款。

Cheaper does not Necessarily Mean Worse
（便宜不代表就不好）

     Many great Super Tuscan wines sell for between 200 and 800 yuan.  I will share a few with you starting with another of the most famous, Tignanello. I love Tignanello because, unlike Sassicaia（Cabernet and Cabernet Franc）, it brings together the best of Tuscany (Sangiovese) with the best of Bordeaux (Cabernet). This wine has also been around since the early 70’s and is one of the main wines which helped to make Super Tuscan wines famous. It has beautiful blackberry and spice flavors and is incredibly silky on the palate. This wine usually retails in China between 700 and 1000 yuan, with aged examples fetching well over 1000.。
     很多非常棒的超级托斯卡纳酒售价在200元至800元之间。首先要介绍的这款最著名的蒂娜内罗。我喜欢蒂娜内罗，是因为不像西施佳雅，蒂娜内罗不只包含着赤霞珠或波尔多地区葡萄种类，还特别好的融合了托斯卡纳当地的葡萄-桑乔维斯。这款酒也早在70年代就被赋予盛名，是超级托斯卡纳酒之所以著名的原因之一。它有非常美妙的黑莓和香辛味道，口感丝滑到不可思议。这款酒通常零售价于700至1000元之间。有一些年份的，会卖到1000以上。

     A really great value Super Tuscan is the Podere Brancaia Tre Rosso.Tre Rosso means “three reds”. This wine has Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Merlot grapes used from three different estates.  It retails in China for 200 to 300 yuan.  This is a juicy, medium-bodied wine with smooth tannins, and is a great value for a super tuscan wine!
     性价比很高的一款超级托斯卡纳酒，叫做布兰卡雅“Tre Rosso”。Tre Rosso是意大利语，意思是三种红酒。所以这款酒包含着桑乔维斯、赤霞珠、梅洛三种葡萄，都来自不同的庄园。在中国，零售价200至300元。这款酒多汁、中等酒体，带着圆润柔顺的单宁。

     Last, but not least, is a wine that I drink often, Le Volte dell’ ornellaia. This wine is made of Merlot, Sangiovese, and Cabernet.  It is the little brother of the famous Super Tuscan Ornellaia. This wine is one of the most sought after and famous Super Tuscan wines. It fetches between 1000 and 3000 yuan in China. Like my favorite Super Tuscans, Le Volte blends Tuscan tradition with Bordeaux style.  It is fairly complex with fresh red fruit flavors, round， firm tannins, and great aromatics.  This wine usually sells for around 300 yuan. 
     最后出场的，是一款我经常喝的，非常喜欢的酒，叫做蕾芙德。
     蕾芙德的酿酒商奥纳亚，非常著名。奥纳亚酒商酿造的同名酒-奥纳亚，是超级托斯卡纳酒里最炙手可热、最著名的酒之一，在中国零售1000至3000元。

     而我喜欢的蕾芙德，就是下面这款，包含着梅洛、桑乔维斯、赤霞珠三种葡萄，是我一向钟爱的混酿风格。它味觉复杂，新鲜的红果味，圆润丰满的单宁，香气浓郁。这款酒零售在300元左右。

     Tuscany boasts six UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Above is the tower  at the cathedral of Pisa. Others include Florence, Val d’Orcia and the historical centers of Prenza, Sienna and San Gimigrano. 托斯卡纳有六个联合国教科文组织世界文化遗产。上图是比萨斜塔，另外五个分别是佛罗伦萨、瓦尔道尔契亚，以及Prenza, Sienna and San Gimigrano的古城中心。

The Arts

Known as the “Art Palace of Italy,” Tuscany is awash with buildings designed by some of history’s greats.Within those buildings are further examples of works by past residents that include Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. 托斯卡纳被称为意大利的艺术圣殿，有很多历史上有名的建筑。但更有名的是，这些建筑里包含的艺术，以及付出心血的当地艺术家，比如雕刻家道纳太罗、艺术家米开朗琪罗、达芬奇等。

Food and Farming

Prosciutto di cinghialo (cured ham of wild boar), carabaccia (onion soup) and lombatina (veal chop) are a just a handful of the region's many specialty dishes. The Tuscan region is also famed for its olive groves。 意大利著名的Prosciutto火腿(一种用野猪肉制作的切得很薄的熏的火腿), carabaccia (洋葱汤) and lombatina (羊羔排)是托斯卡纳最特色的美食！托斯卡纳地区还因橄榄园而闻名。
